Foreskinned - Medical graded silicone for the grippers and a update.
Post Body

Most of you already know that I am active in the community, and I do read most of the posts here, and elsewhere. The feedback I have gotten has been amazing and I also get a lot of suggestions. Foreskin restoration is an important task and I know that it changes lives for a fact. My contribution is small in the greater scheme of things. I am grateful for being able to provide something of value to this community. Below is great news.

New Grippers 1.1 medical graded silicone.
We have updated the grippers from 1.0 to 1.1. The new grippers are made of medical graded silicone. They are a bit softer at the point of delivery and will loosen up a bit. They also have better friction due to changes to the surface. You cannot see the change on the surface but if you hold the old generation 1.0 grippers and the new (generation 1.1) grippers and pull your fingers alongside the grippers you will feel the change.

New manufacturing company
We had to change the manufacturing company for the molding of the grippers. The change into the new medical graded silicone material could not be manufactured with the old company in an efficient manner. The trade-off is therefore this:

New Generation Gripper 1.1

Medical Graded Silicone.

Better grip.

A bit softer at delivery.

They manufacture hygienic products for other businesses.

- Transparency – they are not clear like in the FDA silicone (generation 1.0).

- Small fibers and dust are seen much more easily due to whiter silicone.

- Higher manufacturing cost (about double).

Old Generation Gripper 1.0

Transparency much clearer gripper than the medical graded silicone (generation 1.1).

No fibers or dust (if there are some, you cannot see them easily anyhow).

- Worse grip.

- FDA-approved silicone (the same material as the DTR-grippers).

- A bit harder in the beginning.

The positive outweighs the negative by far.

Monday
We will make the changes on all orders from the 1st of June and forward without any cost increase. I am incredibly proud of taking the first step on Monday and improve the quality of our products! The new grippers will be included with each order going forward. We will keep the same price on the devices and we will increase the price on the grippers β€œUK small and UK Large” by 10% and have changed their names to Tower, Workhorse, and Gravity Grippers & Air grippers.

Cleanroom manufacturing
The best option would have been to upgrade both the material (medical graded) and to work with a multi-billion-dollar company that can provide cleanroom manufacturing and has the available resources to certify the manufacturing process (from the manufacturing of the silicone, transportation of the material, the manufacturing and lastly the packing of the grippers).

As you might suspect. That will be costly for Foreskinned and it will take time, energy, and focus besides the required funds. Therefore, the payoff between changing manufacturing companies To one that does hygienic products (like menstrual cups for other companies) is the first step toward having the same standard on our devices as other medical products.

Feedback and improving the design (1.2)
I appreciate all feedback: Positive and Negative so that we may develop the products and thus contribute further to the community. We are also looking into design changes with the grippers based on feedback from the community. My goal is to start the manufacturing process during the fall and then deliver Grippers 1.2 sometime during 2022.

Certifying the devices
The total cost for getting through the certifying process will be higher than the cost for the tooling - which means that I will start the dialog and get the total picture of each required step. I suspect that it will be a long journey like foreskin restoration itself., laborious, but well worth the effort in the end. Foreskin restoration is a small niche, so we need to make incremental changes and move toward the goal in stages. The devices are adult novelties until we can do all the proper work which most likely will take a few years. We are currently speaking with two of the biggest companies in Sweden and their toolmakers. I have booked meetings with them in the middle of August. We start the process of getting them approved (2023 ) but the first step will be taken by starting the dialog.

Lastly
I am pleased to make this announcement and we are seeing some real progress here and now. Nobody can build Rome in a day or restore their foreskin in a day. We have done our best in building a great foundation and I will take all the necessary steps to provide better and better products. We all deserve the best possible equipment in our journey toward wholeness. We are working on product development and will present a few updated along the way. You will also get an estimation on when we can deliver a bigger size and a smaller size.

My focus will be to bring down the lead time. Please be patient for a few more weeks. I am doing my best in answering emails, doing proper quality control in regards to each device/gripper, product development, and planning for the future. After the summer our ambition will be to send out the orders within 3-10 days.

Thank you for your attention.
