Mantor with beginners

Here and there I can get my mantor DS on, and sometimes I have issues to get it on. I can sometimes get enough skin rolled up onto the gripper. should I get a smaller gripper to easily roll up the skin over the gripper? I am comfortable to send video to anyone that can give me some advice on if I have to do other methods or not.
