I signed up for the June FSOT for the first time yesterday from Japan. After adding my PNs/references etc, I was directed to choose a testing location. Given that the only 2 Pearson testing centers in the country are in very high-risk coronavirus urban centers (Tokyo and Osaka) I was hoping to test remotely using PearsonVUE. However, apparently due to State Department guidelines, "remote testing is unavailable in your current country of residence."
Given that both Tokyo and Osaka are very likely to be placed under yet another State of Emergency this week, and the entire country is -ridiculously- behind most other developed nations in vaccine rollout, it's a bit hard to justify flying down there.
I'm not entirely sure which countries this applies to, as there was no link/other information about the relevant policy, but just in case you were hoping to sign up from abroad, don't count on being able to test remotely!
