Why does the gas nozzle keep stopping when filling up my ‘13 Fusion?

Post Body

So I normally go to Walmart to get gas (cheapest around normally plus 10cent off with the app) and every time I go to start pumping and I pull the trigger fully it’ll just stop. I have no idea why. I have tried different angles with the nuzzle, I’ve went to separate pumps, and all resolute in the same issue. I’m aware how pumps normally work with once your tank is full enough through pressure it stops the nuzzle from filling the tank, but when I did it today and every time I get gas I’m well below a quarter tank. Could there be something wrong with the car or could it be the gas station itself?

Edit: thank you all for the help along with suggestions. I am thinking now I will have my uncle take a look at the car. He’s been a Ford mechanic for 40 years. So I will see if he can take a look and possibly repair it. If not I’ll just be slightly annoyed every time I fill up gas lol.
