I have a 2003 Ford Escape XLT 4x4 and I recently had the rear drum brakes done with a "full nine yards" sorta service. Had the brake shoes, drums, and hardware/self adjusters all replaced. Then, the shop adjusted them and lubed them up properly. I left and drove around 100 miles with great braking performance and no sound what so ever, but then a familiar squealing began...it isn't constant, but when I apply the brakes lightly with more than half the travel of the pedal, they shreik from the rear drums. Sometimes giving it a few good stops from a decent speed quiets them up for a while before it's right back to the sound of their people. Ive taken off the drum and saw everything to be properly replaced and lubed. I have every reason to trust who did the work too, but Im just stumped! Any ideas?
