I played the 2012 version to death and loved it until I upgraded to a retina macbook pro in 2016 and the game just didn't look right anymore, so I thought 'hey if I loved the 2012 version this much, the new 2016 version will probably be amazing"...

So i bought the 2016 version but the match engine just seemed terrible as opposed to the 2012 one which I really enjoyed watching with the 3d graphics on.

I just couldn't get into it and I decided my love for the game might not be possible to recreate on the newer versions, so I gave up.

Fastforward to today and I just bought a macbook air M1 and I have a lot of travelling ahead of me and so I would love to rekindle this love affair, so which recent game has been the most enjoyable with the best match engine? I've also always been worried that perhaps the game became overbloated with annoying press conferences and too many boring tasks to do, is that the case or is the game still as fun as I remember from back in 2012?
