Is emotional attachment to players common?
Post Body

Im currently managing Oxford City, back to back promotions see us currently preparing to enter the big 'League's' (pun very much intended), now you see, the Vanarama South and Vanarama National are at a different quality to league 2 so a squad overhaul is very much needed. And for the most part I carry this out without much trouble, dispatching them to various non-league clubs around England, signing millions of regens for peanuts and a pat on the head, the usual pre season clear out. However there is a slight problem, there is one kid I can't bare to transfer list. His name is James Stuart. The year currently is 2026, i joined at the midway through the 21/22 season, I promoted James at a time when I was in serious need of a Striker at a club with fuck all money. At just 16 years of age he made his debut for me vs Braintree, scored a hatrick to boot and secured our survival. Over the course of my time at oxford however he never could quite make the first team, there always were better options in front of him, however i've just grown so attached to him, he's never complained and everytime he plays he puts in a great shift. But times are changing, and I know he won't cut it in League 2 yet i cant bear to transfer list him. He was 16 when he made his debut for me, he is 21 now, i feel personally responsible for his development .

To list or not list that is the question
