When every match feels like a must-win, cup final
Haven't had a run-in like this in about 30 in-game seasons, and my first one like this on FM24. The kind where every match feels like a must-win, cup final.
Capturing Serie A on the final day
Had a crazy 3-way push between myself (as Roma), Inter and Milan in all major competitions. Haven't seen Italy be this dominant in some time, where we traded the Serie A title lead with both clubs several times over the final 10 matches of the season, then won a pivotal title decider at the San Siro against Inter in MW37. In MW38 we held a slim 1 point lead over Milan, who we hadn't been able to defeat at home the month prior, and who beat Inter in MW38 whilst we had to beat Turino to capture the title.
The top 5 teams were incredibly close throughout the season
For reference, Milan has been the main rival to my Roma since I joined the club in the summer of 2028. In my first season at the club Roma were in the Conference League, which we walked until losing to ManU in the final, but that allowed us to have a go for the league after initially being predicted to finish 6th. We went into MW38 with a 1-point lead over Milan but could only muster a 2-2 draw at Turino whilst Milan defeated Inter 1-0 to pip us to the title, so to be able to hang on to it with all four teams in the same fixture this season felt incredibly good.
Inter and Milan were also stalwarts we had to eliminate in the UCL.
We had to knock Inter out of the Copa Italia in the quarters before ultimately losing that final to Milan. We also had to knock Inter out in the UCL semis before meeting Milan once again (so essentially down to the wire in 3/4 major competitons we were in this season) and getting our revenge for the Copa defeat. I had so many injuries earlier in the season and lost 0-6 to Napoli in the Supercoppa, so we avoided either team there, though both Napoli and Juventus were competitve throughout the season and in Europe as well.
