Moving on from our first Bundesliga club, on to our next one! Next we have FC Albanien Mannheim. The design for this one is fairly straightforward as it draws almost completely from the Albanian flag. It's another simple one that I love, and it's one of the first ones I did for the project.

FC Albanien Mannheim was formed in June of 1999, making it the youngest Bundesliga club by about a month over Union Bonn. Put together by a group of Albanian immigrants in a subdistrict of Mannheim, the club was formed around a culture of change and chaos in the midst of big changes in people's lives. Although the largest cities in the country are home to the most immigrants, FC Albanien Mannheim draws away from the hectic German life that people might not be used to when they come to the country.

Of course, focusing on German-Albanian players, the club has found itself higher in the German football pyramid than anyone may have seen possible. The club has become a beacon for all immigrants to the country, and has embraced that role wholeheartedly, hiring anyone they can to help their club build it's diverse profile of cultures and developing what is very clearly one of the most complete fanbases of any club in the league.

Starting out in what is now the Regionalliga Südwest in 1999 after several teams became insolvent, they saw a quick rise, mainly due to backing starting in 2007 from several investors. The club, since 2006, have risen from the old 5th Divisions where they had been sitting for most of their existence, with 2 brief trips to the 4th, and one disastrous season in the 3. Liga in 2003, all the way to the Bundesliga for the 2019/20 season.

They went down bottom of the league during their first ever season in the Bundesliga, but were promoted via the promotion playoff against FC Bayern Berghausen, who themselves were fighting for a top-flight spot for the first time in over a decade. The 2021/22 season went well all things considering, and the club has stayed lower midtable, maybe flirting with relegation along the way, ever since.
