So my mom gave me some food and when I went to put it away I realized majority of it has best by/expiration dates from years ago. Mostly consisted of multiple packages of pasta noodles, boxed mac n cheese, and a couple canned good items. I know a decent amount about how good some of the food products given to me are, but there are some that are questionable. Like some of the Mac n cheese boxes had best by dates in 2020. She gave me some spaghetti sauces that were bought roughly 4 years ago. And I know the best by date for the sauce was only last year but as you can see in the photo, the bottom of the jar shows some separation in the sauce. Makes me a bit nervous. Would you consider these to be safe to eat or should I not take my chance? (Most of everything else has a best by date for 2021…)
