Where do they get the capital to open not one but 3-4 restaurants? Is this one of the plus's of being on the Food Network? Access to a network of investors the typical aspiring entrepreneur wouldn't have? I don't think people realize how much it takes just to open just one (6-7 figures). It would be cool to get an inside look on the process behind opening said restaurants. If there was a time where this information was shared by one of the chefs, I'd love to know! The way they get emotional of the TOC grand prize makes me believe a lot of the contestants don't have go in all by themselves.

They had the other $1M already saved. They were only $5k short of the $1.005M they needed, and this put them over the top!
