So let me start by explaining that my build is... a crazy mix-mash of sneaky crit pistols and rifles. Interesting, but it works for me. So naturally, the Voice of Set is an important tool in my rollout, and I love that thing to death - especially in places like Watoga and Robco.
This happened right after the last patch, by the way... but I didn't have anywhere to post it until finding this place, as I didn't think anyone on the other subs would care. So the new patch was fantastic for the most part, solved a lot of issues. But a day or so after, I did have one instance where I crashed in a nuke zone. I'm not sure if that's where it happened. I'm not sure when it happened at all, honestly. All I know is, I was looking at my weapons inventory while out in the middle of nowhere and realized...
My Voice of Set was gone.
I ALWAYS have it with me, it never goes to stash. So naturally, I'm panicking. There's no way I scrapped it, right?! I fast travel to my camp and check the stash box to be certain... but it's not there. My Voice of Set is gone. No idea what happened to it, whether it was glitched from existence (as I had seen some posts about similar occurrences where things were disappearing from inventory) or whether someone found some new way to pickpocket it off me or if I somehow DID scrap it without realizing. Regardless, it was gone, and I was devastated. I knew my only way to get a new one was start a new character and do the quests again, unless I could find someone willing to part with theirs.
I would just have to go check out one of the market subs when I was done playing. It was pretty disheartening, but what could I do? I'd already read reports that other people had reached out to support and had been told Bethesda could not replace missing items. So I continued on with my game, fast traveling to the Whitesprings train station to do some selling.
I started to browse the vendor's items, scanning the weapons... and there at the very bottom....
... was a lv. 25 Voice of Set.
I couldn't believe it. The very first vendor I went to, and there it was. I'd never seen a Voice of Set at a vendor the entire time I'd played (and I've been playing since BETA) and here it was, right when I needed it. I bought that sucker immediately, took it straight back to camp, and modified it up to lv. 45 just as mine had been.
We immediately went for a spree in Watoga to celebrate.
