Any tips for a level 30?

Hi everyone! I've haven't played Fallout 76 for awhile but then joined again today and found myself feeling very underpowered. I feel as if missions are getting harder but I'm still struggling to kill basic enemies. Feel as I am missing something when it comes to weapons. Does anyone recommend any good weapons with high damage or anything tips? Feel stupid that I'm still getting killed by basic monster at level 30 😅 Thank you!
