First Subscruption Xbox issues

My brother bought first for the Xbox through Microsoft, and it says he doesn't have it on the game. However, if he goes through the store again, it shows manage subscriptions. So, I guess he has it, but its not working in game. He's tried restarting his game, the internet connection, restarting the Xbox, and nothing. Any tips are appreciated
