Another batch of recoil and mod testing.
Post Body

I went back to test again since some things weren't adding up overall. After now 3 tests hopefully something will make sense to all of it. I'm sure it won't but knowledge is power.

As of my last test it was laid out that:

A) Double True was the prime mod choice for single shot weapons for long range gunplay and hip fire.

B) Double Aligned was the best choice for semi auto weapons when aiming and in vats.

C) Stabilized was best coupled with other mods.

D) Recoil and recoil reduction are based around percent valves and was widely chance based.

E) That Two Shot affects reticle size and max bloom as well as each shot rolls its own recoil chance.

F) The Rapid (faster fire rate by 25%) effect does increase your recenter speed.

G) Being slowed or hit with cyro effects will reduce your overall recoil kick at the cost of not moving.

Old testing for view: Recoil test 2... Not the last.

With this new test there some new data to confirm the previous findings and some new discoveries. Everything in the old test is still valid and will be noted here if it changed.

1) A Double True mod configuration has a hitbox size of 22 when resting and a max bloom of 42 when moving or firing. Recenter is fast as the max bloom is closer to it. A True mod with a standard or equal mod will raise your hitbox and bloom to 44 and 66 respectively. Recoil reduction chance is Zero as this mod offers you none. It also seems to add to your VATS hit chance before any other VATS stats are checked. The amount isn't much but does help when needed. There seems to be a range sweet spot to notice the extra amount. Is unique in that it can stack with the True receivers. They won't add on to your hitbox but will increase your weapon spread, bringing you closer to .0 spread. This set up was meant for single shot weapons but also benefits full auto that care about hit chance over AP. Average recoil fails on non bolt, lever, gauss and revolver weapons was 9/20 rounds.

2) Double Aligned is second to hitbox and max bloom at 33 and 38 when resting and moving/firing. & the second fastest recenter. Any other mod coupled with Aligned will raise your max bloom to 89. This config is best with semi auto, slow firing automatic and burst firing. As well as close range shooting. Recoil chance is 50 50 100%. Also confers a small AP reduction making this set up ideal for aiming, hip firing, and VATS use as well. This doesn't give any VATS hit chance like the True set up does. Recoil chance fails 6/20 rounds

3) Stabilized has the widest hitbox at 44 and a max at 89 when moving and firing. Only a single Stabilized mod is needed for 100% recoil reduction. However adding two Stabilized mods will over cap the recoil reduction chance they add on. But two separate Stabilized mods will offer two separate rolls effectively giving you two chances to proc the reduction. Recenter is the same as others but is slightly longer as it travels further. This set up offers no vats chance or AP reduction and is purely for scoped and aiming use. Hip firing does not proc the recoil chance on this config. Average recoil fails 5/20 rounds.

Now some new data that came up:

A2) Recoil and recoil reduction chances are ranged based. The closer something is to you the lower values are applied if not completely removed for that moment. Meaning you'll feel the full effect at max range.

B2) Recenter is the key to recoil reduction chance. Each time your gun is allowed to begin to recenter the chance winds down to reset. This also applies when your reticle bloom is at it max. As long as your gun stays in that bloom and doesn't recenter to a new point you can keep that focus. This only applies to semi auto as full auto loses recenter speed after the first several shots fired.

C2) The Forceful Stock seems to be bugged or not coded right. The 5% AP reduction is supposed to ONLY apply to gun bashing and not vats. My guess is that the effect statement is written wrong. As the armour arm mod works and has the right statement. I think that the game is looking for any AP reduction checks.

D2) Faster fire rate speeds up recenter as mentioned before. But there seems to be a fire cap that breaks this roll. Your Rp10s will determine this far more. This applies to semi auto as again full auto loses its recenter after the first few shots fired. So that means there a double sweet spot for recenter. Pick your poison.

E2) Aim assist seems to be tuned too high as when trying to recenter at select ranges it completely moves your Cone of Fire/hitbox on its own and fights back.

F2) True/Aligned, Stabilized/Align and, True/Stabilized all still offer some benefits but also hurt your overall performance.
