How do the CAMP stashed work? Please help.

I’m having trouble understanding the way that the CAMP stash system works. Here are some of them-
I’ve heard that you can only put 400 lbs of stuff in a camp, but does that refer to any container or the camp device itself?
When I built a container in my base (I think it was the first one, the vault trunk, it said that all things in it will be share with other containers. Does that mean all the ones in my camp, or something else?
