Sooooooo I've been playing FO76 for maybe about a year and a half, close to two years, and one of my earliest experiences with the game and the community was an exceptional one - I was a very early level (under 20) and I wandered into a camp near The Wayward to check it out. (I am a very mid C.A.M.P. builder so I'm always impressed by top-tier builders.) The camp owner, well over lvl 100, sent me an Xbox message asking what my favorite weapon was so far, and at that point I was a 10mm die-hard (still like them). He crafted a lvl-appropriate 10mm for me and tricked it out with 3 stars and all the bells and whistles. It helped SO much in early game play and frankly just made my day. I didn't ask for anything but he dropped a dope-ass 10mm along with a handful of stimpaks and a few plans I didn't have. I got hooked.
Time has passed, Fallout is more popular than ever thanks to the Prime series, and people are now realizing that Fallout 76 is still the black sheep of the series, but it's our loveable black sheep that's come one hell of a long way. But here's the question:
TL; DR start here --> since the Fallout TV series has come out, I have noticed an uptick in griefing. Last night I had made a bunch of bulk junk to put in my vending machine - I figure I get the junk for free, so I bulk it and sell it for usually half the retail price or even less. I get a few caps, builders get bulk scrap at way cheaper than normal. I was busy putting it into my vending machine and pricing it (BTW, am I also the only one dealing with slow AF menus? Is that just an Xbox thing? It's been like that since the expansion update.) when I was getting attacked by something. My Morgantown C.A.M.P. sometimes has ferals spawn around the area but normally my defenses handle it. But it was another player. Worse, I'm now lvl 110 and this was some pissant in the 70s. So I'm kinda pissed and I go after this dude who's wrecking my camp's living room, and he's using either missiles or mininukes and I get got. So f**k this sh*tbird, I move my C.A.M.P. to my mill location just south of Vault 76. This a**hat follows me and tears me a new one AGAIN.
TL; DR the Second --> has anyone else noticed an upswing in griefers? Just absolute sh*tbags who are really intent on ruining someone's gaming sesh? I REALLY don't want to believe it's because I fly Pride flags outside of 2 of my 3 camps (Happy Pride, y'all!), but I don't have any other possible motives beyond some people are just d*cks.
Thoughts? Comments? Are you a griefer? If so, proceed to the nearest Deathclaw gauntlet and/or Deathclaw claw still attached to said Deathclaw, and have a seat.
