Second floors without stairs?

Hey friends. Does anyone know of there is a way to build second story floors without stairs?
My first floor 1-1/2 walls. I want to add a second floor but want to make my own stairs out of rocks.
Two things I cannot figure out. 1. How to building a standard stair set so that the floor will clip at 1-1/2 stories. 2. How to attach a floor to the top of a wall without the standard stair step.
Any advice or tricks you’ve used would be greatly appreciated.
