Cannot place item: Selected item is floating

I'm trying to place a junkyard dog collectron station in the spot where I'd previously had a collectron station just moments before. But I keep getting the above message. I tried placing it everywhere along my shelter, it shows green, like I can place it, but no matter where I try to place it, it says it's floating. I can't place it on the ground itself, it's too unleveled, it only shows as red when I try to place it on the ground. But even though it shows it's green for my foundations and floors, it still says it's floating. Anyone have any suggestions, or have this issue themselves?
