Hey guys, ATC here, with a quick request.

It’s awesome that folks are bringing food to the various facilities, it’s truly a kind gesture and it’s awesome to have a chance to meet some of the folks we serve. What’s not awesome is that this is a thing because of why it’s a thing. This shutdown is obnoxious and in really needs to come to an end.

So, my request, because lunch is nice but being able to buy lunch everyday is nicer, melt Mitch McConnell’s switchboard with demands that he fund the FAA. He’s holding this up in the Senate right now, and that’s the next step to getting this rolling. We can work the next step once a bill get to the Oval. Hell, if you’ve got time, hit up more Rs in the senate and pressure them to break ranks.

I don’t care about your opinion of the wall, I don’t need to tell you mine. I don’t care who you voted for, and I don’t need to tell you who I did.

The longer this goes, the more chances we have for distraction on the boards. The more chances someone gets hurt, and we as pilots are on that front line. Remember that the next time you’re on final and the controller is getting the snow removal equipment off, or when your family boards a plane.

Again, thanks for the grub guys, you all are awesome. But remember, bring a guy lunch and he’ll eat for a day but give him a paycheck and he’ll eat for a pay period and have a roof to eat under.
