Hey everyone, I'm a bit concerned about a decision I'm about to make in the next 3 days so I'd love some experts's advice.
I've always been wanting to get my PPL license to flight by myself and finally made up my mind about a year ago because I was on a plane where someone gave me the control so I could really experience it, and I finally have the time and finance to afford the license regular flights.
The constraint I have is that I'm constantly travelling and can hardly settle down for more than a few months, but luckily I have a great shot in February as I have 2-3 free months before moving to the US where I'll travel around for a few years.
Therefore I really want to take this opportunity to get my license, and I found a Spanish-based school (FlyInSpain) which promises intensive programs to get the license over 4-6 weeks, which sounds ideal for me and has space to start in February.
It also has great reviews from what I've seen I think the intensive format will suit me much better for learning.
Now, unfortunately I don't have any friends who are pilots so I have very little options to express and discuss my concerns, so that's why I would love your advice as I've been learning mostly from reading this community!
- What do you think about such schools/programs that promise an intensive training? (Or this school specifically if you know them)
- As I travel frequently, I want to make sure I don't have false expectations about my dream, which is to get my license in Spain, convert it into a US one too, and then being able to rent a plane and fly regularly wherever I am currently in the world (mostly in the US and Western Europe). Am I right that I'll be able to do this? (I've heard that sometimes you cannot rent planes outside the school you passed your license in)
I really appreciate your time for reading me guys!
Thanks
