Questions Regarding Obtaining Records for Medical Certificate

Post Body

I am planning on starting flight training in the next year or two. The plan is to at the very least obtain a PPL & IR (I live in the Pacific NW; it seems like knowing how to proficiently fly in weather might be a good thing here), and then decide if I want to pursue aviation as a career. I will obviously need a 3rd class medical certificate, and potentially up to a 1st class medical. I have two main concerns regarding what may (or may not be) in my medical history:

  1. Up until recently I was seeing a therapist; originally due to the death of my father, however that evolved into childhood trauma. I am no longer seeing said therapist. I reached out to ask what diagnosis was made and provided to the insurance company, however he has not returned my calls.
  2. When I was a child (around middle-school age), I was diagnosed with a systolic click; a benign form of a heart murmur. As an adult, my current primary care physician cannot find any evidence of me having that, and thinks I may have been misdiagnosed.
  3. I currently have MyChart, and neither of the aforementioned are listed there.

I have no way of obtaining my medical files from decades ago (that I know of). Does anyone know what resources the FAA uses to verify someone's medical history? If those resources are publicly available, that seems to me the best way to know exactly what's there so that I can report anything accurately.
