I am not new to fishing, I am brand new to fly fishing.
I’ve gone out twice on a legendary trout stream and been skunked both times. I’ve fished the same water many times with a spinner and caught lots of fish. I have to ask myself, why am I doing this extremely difficult and expensive method of catching the same fish I know I could easily catch with my spinning reel?
I don’t really have an answer to that question but I’m going back with my fly rod this weekend. I’m sure others have had similar experiences so I’m just wondering… what kept you going back when you were new?
