Buddy and I had a day trip planned for months now on the Blackfoot in Montana near the small town of Ovando. We’ve had great success there on past day trips.

Today was not like previous trips. Fished for 5 hours and I hooked into one fish but couldn’t get him netted. My friend on the other hand caught around 8 fish, two of which being a monster cutty and rainbow. I was doing everything right, had nymph and streamer rigs set up. The fishing Gods just weren’t looking down on me today I guess.

At the end of the day though I can’t even be upset, got to enjoy the beautiful outdoors with a long time friend and net those big fish for him! Besides, I catch fish a lot and rarely ever get skunked so my time was overdue… lol!
