Are subscriptions apps considered free or paid?

Post Body
I'm publishing my app on Google play console. One of the first questions it asks is whether the app is free or paid.
Now, I want my app to stay free, and then use subscriptions at some point (Like Netflix, Spotify ..etc).
Does the app being "paid" has anything to do with subscriptions?
If I want my app to be a subscription app, should I add it as free or paid?
