Middle East, 20xx
Iran and Iraq are at it again with a resurged conflict. Trench warfare on a mass scale as with the last Iran-Iraq War has returned. Men can scarce stand up without catching lead to the face.
The Iraqis have started to utilize their feral populations of Fluffies to send messages through the trenches and from rear echelons to the fronts. Understandably, the Americans are not too sure what's in the Iraqi water supply...but the messages seem to arrive properly.
Training for a single courier begins with the fluffy's parents, the original batch trained for over two YEARS before hostilities had erupted. Skills from the iriginals are learned through the womb and with remedial training.
Middle Eastern fluffies more resemble camels or Arabian horses than their American counterparts, making them PERFECT for the desert. Though, not every foal survives. Of a state-born litter of eight...only three will make it through the program. Of those three, only one of every ten fluffies will live past a month of service. This is much better than Evyptian mine disposal fluffies, whom have a life expectancy of no more than a few days once in service.
