I want to make it clear that I do not believe in using punishments for discipline. For instance, one of his fortnightly chores is changing the bed linens. Initially, the job wasn't done to my satisfaction, as the bedsheets weren’t properly tucked at the corners of the mattress. Instead of waiting for him to improve on his own, I addressed the issue immediately.
I would be there superising him and advicing him, if he made a mistake I would show him myself. I would show him how to tuck the bedsheet and make sure he understood what I mean, and then rip it out fully and have him do it all over again. I made him redo the task until his quality met my standards.
I like this method as I do not have to use any degrading language or punishments, btw which he actually loves, so I would be giving him what he craves. However, I’m facing a challenge with his cooking skills. Although he's improved, his progress has plateaued. Unlike with the bedsheets, I can't simply throw out food and make him start over. Do you have any suggestions for training him in cooking?
