Looking for "intermediate combat flight sim

Back in the Amiga days I used to love combat flight aims like F18, falcon etc
But for many years have been console gamer and there have never really been any sims for console
I now have a new gaming pc and am looking for a combat flight "sim" - but not as hardcore as DCS but not arcadey like Ace Combat
Is there such a beast that offers decent flight models - single player combat missions etc that don't require you to be a fully qualified fighter pilot to play ???
