Nvidia 1080Ti did... nothing. Any ideas?

I thought I "upgraded" when I installed a new 1080Ti card this evening (coming from a Maxwell Titan X), but the frame rate is the same. I tried both P3D and XP11 and get anywhere from 18 to 30 fps on the ground at DFW for example with my settings. I was under the assumption that the 1080Ti represented a 20-30 percent increase in performance. Am I incorrect and should I keep my Titan X, or is there some setting/change I can make that will improve things with the new card? Thanks! P.S. I have an 5820k running @ 4.6.
