It makes so much sense to me, they put there shows on there streamers, but then they make studio level looking movies like big blockbuster kind of event films since they seem to be snapping up some of the IP to do this and make it like a studio movie and then they have the possibility to earn studio money in addition to there current subscribers and not all movies of course but some big ones!! Why are they so set on having it be at home? Of course the movie could come to the streamer after the theatrical window but it seems like a great way to expand and become more like a studio and a streamer. I’m worried we are losing classic Hollywood studios so this would be nice if they did this. And I’m not saying all movies I’m saying some of course they keep most on the service but I’m saying the big big ones they have the potential with the right film to earn a lot in profit that can be poured into other projects just seems like leaving money on the table to me. a great way to expand I say this because before the pandemic Netflix wanted to acquire paramount studios and they didn’t but if they did it would be another classic studio sucked up by a streamer but if they wanted to become more a classic movie studio this would help soften the blow of these movie studios being sucked up and Netflix or whatever streamer overall could put out better stories.
