Accessory navicular bone

Got my first xray of my foot. Turns out it wasn’t a stress fracture I had but an extra bone and my tendon is inflamed. I can barely walk in the morning in my right foot so I’m in a boot. Doc recommended steroids for inflammation and wear a boot for 3 weeks. This won’t be my new normal right? I’m an avid runner and was hoping I can return to running in a few months.
