Hey folks, thanks in advance! I'm looking for a gift for a good friend of mine. He's pretty into outdoorsy stuff and is outfitting his truck for overlanding, so figured a really nice high-quality compact flashlight would make a great holiday gift since he doesn't already have one.
Price Range: $75 - $150
Purpose: general purpose, extended car camping trips (3-7 days)
Battery Type & Quantity: 18650 or USB-C rechargeable
Size: flexible, but smaller is better
Type: handheld
Main Use: EDC, camping/outdoors, changing tires in the dark
Switch Type: flexible, but probably tail switch
Anything Else?:
- he generally really likes anything that's sturdy and well-made (e.g. Davek umbrellas, Benchmade knives, etc.), so fit and finish are super important.
- given the wide range of uses, something with long battery life and different levels of illumination would be great. no need for strobe/flash/etc. modes.
- Good ergonomics are important and a relatively minimalist design would be nice.
