As promised, I'd like to make a few announcements to the community.
First off, when I decided to take on this endeavor last summer, it had no idea just how much time and work this would actually take, so some of my time estimates have not been accurate.
As some of you know my name is Carlos 'Aari' Lotfipour and I've started the company JalapeƱo Games, LLC recently, which I'm boot strapping full-time now. The purpose of this is company is to provide an actual business structure to the applications and games that I want to bring to FlappyCoin and facilitate increased user adoption of it as well as 7 select crypto currencies. We currently are a small team of 3, officially, and over the past 8 months have been working on the first game diGeoCache. Its concept is virtual geocaching with added features of a crypto faucet, crypto assets, user generated media content, social networking, proximity techniques and socially positive gameplay to facilitate a new kind of game interaction between users. The goal is to remove 3 of the major barriers for entry (lack of crypto knowledge, difficulty to acquire, and no perceived need for it) by simplifying the users interaction and reducing it to simple in-game use, without the user knowing that they are using a crypto currency. As they become more established in the game, we offer more options of how to use their coins, and eventually show them how they can use them for real-world purchases. This is how we create crypto users from average mobile users.
I personally am not a seasoned developer and have been away from programming for about 8 years, so I've been diligently designing and mocking up this game to give to my 2 developers to create.
Here are a few of the initial mockups that our iOS and Android developers are working from.
With the developers working on diGeoCache I've been piecing together the business side of JalapeƱo Games and getting our name out into the bitcoin space, as well as feedback from investors and accelerators in Silicon Valley which has been positive about the future of JalapeƱo and diGeoCache. Not to mention gathering other coin communities to help with our PoS and assets implementations, though those announcements will come in the future when they are ready to launch. We've also been approached about integrating our game with an existing 2FA wallet. There are still some responses that we're waiting to hear back from, which have been delayed by the holiday week/weekend but those will be shared when they are received.
Another pre-announcement is the JalapeƱo platform, which was born from this first game but again, more details on that will come in the future, as we're still working on it. But I can say that we're doing something different than has not been done before, and I think everyone will really like it!
That all said, I think its time we really start rebuilding this community. Share your content, your ideas, and your time to help get this coin back on its feet. We need mods, graphics, web design, core code devs etc... The most immediate need is in web design and migration. Our hosting service for http://goflap.io is closing and we need to migrate over to a new service, as well as update the website to a fresh new design.
There's a TON to do on the coin side and the JalapeƱo side, and its going to take a community to make this happen. If you can help in any capacity and are willing to take the helm on some projects let me know.
Flap on.
