Faucet knob hard to turn after replacing cartridge.

Post Body
Noticed last night that the hot water was leaking in one of my bathroom sink faucets. Turned it off at the wall and went out to Lowes to pick up some replacement cartridges. I have this style of faucet and got these replacement cartridges. Everything fits together and the water works, but now it's harder to turn the knob so my kids (4 and 6) aren't able to turn the hot water on at all. What can I try to loosen it up a bit? I imagine that I could buy the OEM part, but it costs the same amount for one cartridge and doesn't come with the spring and gasket, so I'm hoping to be a bit more cost efficient.
