On October 31 my 2008 Kia Sedona decided to up and simply no longer recognize its chip key. I had it towed to my mechanic. He’s tried having a new key programmed for the vehicle only to find out it’s a problem with the computer that handles the accessories which is about $1200 new. The key will cost $250. I’m not about to put $1500 into a car this age and he’s tried to find a used computer but for some odd reason none I’ve worked and I’m still without the vehicle. Does anyone either know if there is a way to just completely disable the security feature. I’m not concerned about the car being stolen but it would be really nice to have it back at some point.
Thanks in advance if you have any suggestions. So far I’ve found nothing helpful
