It had been several years, and each day felt like it's own. I hadn't performed in a long time, often drawn into long boring board meetings, given endless papers to sign, and I was also a design consultant on... those things.
My wife never figured out that our daughter was still here among us. I'd never told her, and though Little Bonnie wanted to tell her mother so badly, I couldn't allow her to. To my wife, and everyone but me and my little Bonnie... she was dead.
They had made several other animatronics, using costumes more... grotesque than my original design. I never knew why, but I had a feeling it was out of some sort of undeserved spite.
They had removed my wife's name, and instead called it "Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria" Though I was no longer Freddy Fazbear in public. I was still allowed to play him on stage, but not allowed to take the credit.
I made sure My little Bonnie got to explore the restaurant. I may not have had control, but I got paid. I slipped the engineers some money now and then, to teach me how to program and repair the animatronics. After all, I was now caretaker to my daughter.
One night, I was able to slip in, and change the programming to allow My daughter to walk around at night. No one was there, why would it matter? We had played a couple of times, but more and more, I was too tired to play, and eventually we had to keep our play for the day, but at night, this was her playground.
It was several more years before I was able to create my masterpieces. In that time i'd improved Little Bonnie's "costume" with a brighter purple, and some facial accents to make her look more feminine. I spent as much time as i could with my special little girl, but the company had bigger plans
In my request that my wife and I remain performers, they had allowed me to design new suits. Springlock suits, that could be worn by individuals. The customer wouldn't realize that it was a person, not an animatronic, performing for them, that way the restaurant could keep it's image.
It took nearly ten years in total, but they were completed, enough for our restaurant, and several others that were opening up. A golden Freddy and Bonnie, just like the old days.
There were commercials, radio ads, newspapers around the country with the words "Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria unveiling new advanced animatronics, capable of free movement and spectacular new tricks!" In truth, it would be me and my wife, and several other trained performers putting on a ruse.
It was a week before the opening of the event, and I had just walked into the establishment. The Freddy Animatronic was bringing cupcakes to some children, while my little Bonnie played with some of the toddlers several rooms down.
The sound of children and laughter had always made her happy, and I knew this was as happy as she could be in her condition, as she was capable of just a little more movement than Freddy was.
I walked back to my little security office, and stared out of my window at little Bonnie, but the phone would eventually ring.
"Good evening Mr. Fazbear, it has been quite some time since we've had a chat." that smug, happy voice rang out from the phone. "I do hope everything you have Planned for this sunday's special event goes smoothly." He finished, leaving my mouth dry as I stumbled to respond.
It had been four years since I had heard from that nameless man. I'd never even seen the heads of the company he represented, but the money to keep this show running had to come from somewhere.
He drove a fancy purple car... one of those AMC Gremlin's, and it was always kept in mint condition. even had one of those fancy car phones.
"T-things are going just as planned. the suits are foolproof. all you have to do is crank the animatronic parts to the side, and lock them in place with the pin, and it shouldn't budge unless someone pulls them out." I responded, sounding confident in my own design.
"I do hope so, I wouldn't want anything to happen to our special representative." He said, giving an annoying little chuckle. "By the way... Have you met my nephew yet? He's been working there the past couple of weeks. I hope you don't mind, but he's been using your office as a base of operations."
I had noticed things occasionally moved around in the office, but I had never noticed anyone here. "I gave him the night shift, you know, a summer job." He laughed. " A place with all that fancy equipment needs to be kept safe." he spoke, as my blood ran cold.
The night shift? My little girl... she was being watched! "He says he's noticed that our little girl has been rather inquisitive at night, trying to get into the office. Now, you know the animatronics have to follow all of the same rules here at Freddy's."
"You know, all except for that last one... that's a much different rule for them." He said. with a laugh "And if they break those rules, they get reprogrammed." He spoke in cold, uncaring words. "And may I say, Freddy's new accessory is very becoming of him.
Freddy's new what? My eyes scanned the room again, spotting Freddy walking around handing out cupcakes, but one of the cupcakes looked like... "W-wait... W-why does Freddy have that?" I said nervously, eyeing the switch to my daughters life.
"Just some insurance." He said. "Remember, don't touch Freddy, or bad things happen."
"You bastard.. I can just go rip that thing from it's hands and then you won't have anything on me." I yelled, getting ready to run out and take my daughter back.
"Tsk tsk Mr. Fazbear, I'm sure you're aware that language like that is against the rules at Freddy Fazbears Pizzeria." He said a much harsher tone then I'd ever heard him speak. "I'm afraid when the rules get broken, bad things happen."
There was a pause, as I struggled to respond, but he'd do that for me.
"Things like this usually end a restaurant too, but i'm sure you'll be just fine." He ended the call on those words.
I looked up to my daughter immediately, was Freddy going to do something? I watched, hand on the door of my office, waiting to run out and save her, and that's when it happened.
The store front was locked... private party today, and a child was peering in at the guests having a good time. poor kid I thought, as out of the corner of my eye, that shiny purple Gremlin pulled up outside. I couldn't move, my eyes watching as he pulled up right behind the child.
He stepped out of his car, just long enough to look me in the eye from the window as he jabbed a knife right into the childs side, twisting it and holding the child's mouth so he couldn't scream. Was this some sort of joke?!
He held him there for a few moment, i know it had to be painful from how the tears streamed down the child's face before he fell to the ground. That man... that butcher jumped back in his car, driving off.
I ran, I ran as fast as i could to the front of the building. No cars coming down the street... I had to act fast. Scooping the boy up in my arms I ran around and back into the building, hiding him under a jacket, his blood staining the inner layers. I made it into my office, closing and locking my door.
"Come on kid! Wake up!" I screamed at the nearly lifeless body, his eyes wide, not quite dead.
"T-there's nothing i can do.. e-except..." I stuttered, looking to the back of my office.
I did have something I could do. I was saving it for my little girl... something to give her more freedom. A big box, shaped like a present in the back of my office sat, unopened. I had planned on unveiling it soon, but this was more important.
I had learned a lot from the engineers, and after designing those springlocks, i had already begun work on a new line of animatronics, something that would hopefully bring a cuter face to my daughter. I opened the box, a variety of strange equipment inside, and a special mask.
It was then I could hear banging on my door as the injured child lay gasping for air on the floor. Was it the cops, had someone seen something?
No, it was little bonnie, peeking in and waving at me. I nervously gulped and waved back, trying to make it seem like nothing was wrong. she soon left, as I breathed a sigh of relief. I grabbed a toolkit from the back and approached the child with the mask in my other hand.
"I-i'm so sorry son... I-i'm G-gonna try to fix you up..." I said... placing the ceramic mask over his face. The phone rang again, my hand reaching up in record time to grab it as i was trying to work as fast as I could. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT NOW?" I screamed into the phone
A young voice, very different from that man's rang into my ear.
"Uh... hello? Hello?"
