Post Body

Hello everyone, today I’m scooping up my first ever fishing boat. It’s just one of those inflatable dinghy boats 10.8’ with a trolling motor. Sticking to lakes/rivers only at the moment.

Was just wondering what some boating essentials may be that I’m forgetting about.

So far I’ve decided after I get the boat I will need: - Life Jacket - Electric Pump - Wheels to make it portable solo - Anchor - Rope - 2 Batteries - Rod Holders

How effective/ mandatory would you say a battery box is? Or a battery charger?

For an anchor, can I just tie rope onto a dumbbell? Or should I buy an actual anchor.

Anything else I have missed listing above?

My goal is to get into boating with the inflatable dinghy as it’s super light, easy to store & easy to use by myself. Then once I’m used to it and ready to upgrade I will build and customize a jon boat so I can easily stand & fish.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Just got back into fishing this summer and it’s something I’ve really been missing and needing in my life.
