Installed a Japanese font on my PC, now Firefox renders half my pagesｌｉｋｅ ｔｈｉｓ

Language and font settings are set to English and pages are not allowed to choose their own font and are set to a non-Japanese font.
Yet for some reason about half the site's (Google is biggest culprit) I'm on decide to now render in that weird fixed width Japanese Latin character style.
I could probably just uninstall the font if all else fails, but does anyone have any other solutions I could try to get it rendering text back to normal.
