It's been years since Firefox has stutters on 1080p 60FPS (including fullscreen) videos whether it be HTML5, MPEG, etc. compared to Chromium. What is going on?

EDIT: SOLVED, by a comment reply! Take a look at this post -- about:config, set "media.gpu-process-decoder" and "layers.gpu-process.enabled" both to false.

I've tested on multiple computers, including enough power to stream some medium-heavy-duty games. Not only that, 1080p 60FPS videos work perfectly fine on Chrome so I'm either using Chrome to watch it or using Firefox only using 720p 60FPS. The problem is not solved after:

  • Reboot

  • Updating graphics drivers

  • Disable VP9

  • Disable H264

  • Change default FPS

I want to uninstall Chrome once and for all. If you have any other ideas, please let me know!
