Hello /r/Firefox, I was hoping you could help me troubleshoot what's going on with some abnormally high memory usage. I did a random check today and noticed Firefox's processes were using a combined ~4.6 GB of memory. (Screenshot). I poked around about:memory and noted this:
2.4 GB in "heap-unclassified." I made the switch to multiprocess pretty late; before that Firefox would always hover around between 1.3-2 GB of memory. I did a small test consisting of enabling one-by-one my add-ons and chalked up that high typical usage to a combination of RES and Tab Tree, though I was wondering if this was abnormal as well. Since the switch to multiprocess, however, each process typically uses >1 GB of memory. A whopping 3.4 is pretty crazy though. Tonight I plan to restart with Add-ons disabled to see if that clears anything up, but otherwise is there anywhere to go from here?
