So I have a brand new Asus Rog zephyrus m16 running windows 11. Something that I’ve noticed is that’s when I leave my computer on sleep and then come back to it if I unplug the computer and it goes on battery any YouTube video that is 4k60fps will lag to the point where you have to play them at 480p. The thing is this only happens with Firefox and only videos above a certain resolution. Any HD video play fine as well as 4K video (although they do lag a bit when skipping) it’s only the 4k60fps videos. This also only happens on Firefox as when this happens I tried playing the same videos, 4k60fps, on edge and they will play fine. Also it seems to only happen when the computer goes on battery after being asleep for a while (it’s plugged in while asleep) as when I plug the charger back in the videos stop lagging and then lag again when I unplug it.
The problem does have a “fix”, all I have to do is close Firefox and open it up again and it’s 100% fine, but it’s just annoying having to close my entire browser. I use private browsing for normal browsing a lot just out of habit and it’s just annoying loosing all those pages.
Some are saying it’s a driver issue but if it was wouldn’t all videos be affected? cause for me it’s only Mozilla YouTube and only 4k60fps ones. And if it’s not a driver issue what other problems could it be and what solutions are there?
Mozilla is fully updated.
