So I’ve seen this a lot on social media and even just in person with others but do you guys appreciate, don’t care for or hate volunteers? Personally some of the nicest and humble individuals in the fire service are volunteers at times and of course on the career side too. I feel that volunteers just get pissed on all the time for just trying to help out and do more for their community, especially by the career peeps. I’m not a volunteer and not career, went more into the medicine side of things after my wildland career but still keep up with things. I just think that being shitty to volunteers, regardless of how long they’ve been doing it, just goes to show that the fire service is filled with toxic individuals that just want to bring others down. What do you think? Are volunteers just down right hated in your eyes or do you appreciate what they bring to the table and coach them to get them that career position?
