Changing shampoo/conditioner - hopelessly confused

Post Body

I've got fine straight dark hair that goes down to mid-back. My hair tangles some but not terribly if I comb it once in the morning. It has a fair amount of breakage that look like a halo when I frizz up. I've also been shedding quite a bit during each wash, which could be due to the length (maybe?) but might be a product issue.

I wash and condition every other day with OGX Thick & Full Biotin & Collagen shampoo and conditioner. (And probably use more than I should.) I rinse well and let my hair air dry. I don't use other products. I wash the morning of Day 1. By Day 2 my hair is usually limp and by the morning of Day 3 it's pretty oily.

The bottles are almost empty and I am reassessing, especially since I'm going to be living out of my car for a few months, and may not be able to wash my hair on the same schedule. I've read reviews for Ouai Fine Hair, Redkin Volume Injection, Bumble and Bumble Thickening Volume, Brioheo Blossom and Bloom, and Biolage Volume Bloom products, which are all recommended for fine hair but all have recent reviews saying that they are the WORST ever for leaving fine hair limp and greasy. I've tried to make sense of sulfates (bad! necessary! ok, but not too harsh! (what is too harsh?)) and clarifying washes and leave-in conditioners and at this point I'm ready to shave it all off.

What are you using right now? Do you like it? How are you using it? Why do you think it works with your hair?
