Years ago (I believe the mid to late 90s) I’d picked up a music mix CD that had various artists on it. I want to say it was a rock mix but I don’t recall exactly. There was one particular song performed by a female that I really liked.

It’s been many years so the lyrics as I recall them may not be entirely correct. The lines as I remember them went something like:

“Tired eyes make me (something) and heartache makes me (something) and I find myself again, (without friends?).”

Then something like, “Oh mother, (I think that I’m an alcoholic).”

It’s also possible she said “lying eyes,” but I’m nearly certain it was tired eyes.

This has bugged me for years and I’ve had no luck tracking it down. I’d really appreciate any help in identifying it.
