Sub telling new subs tribute is scam

So I was talking to a new sub. I always talk to subs for a bit before asking for a tribute to figure out what type of dynamic they want and if it’s something that will work for us both. So he asked for my snap or telegram to continue conversation and I let him know I don’t move off of Reddit until a tribute is paid. Then he sends me this.

It could very well just be an excuse not to pay or he ever had intentions on paying since it is a newer account. But the fact that there is a sub going around saying this just because he had a bad experience just really annoyed me.
