Returning the unblock fee

I was put in an unfortunate situation where communicating my thoughts/concerns was not enough and I said that it would be best not to maintain any contact. I blocked them, but they paid the unblock fee.

Due to how uncomfortable I felt about the situation and how paranoid I felt after this - I decided to return the money because I didn’t want them to feel as though I would unblock because I expressed that this was pretty much a final decision.

My friend said I should’ve kept the money & kept him blocked. What do you think? What would you have done?
