Advice on undergrad major

Post Body

I’m a junior who is thinking of their major as I look into colleges. I know I want to become an ophthalmologist (eye doctor/surgeon) and I know I have a major interest in medicine. I’ve only recently acquired an interest in computer science, although I’m not very good at it in my opinion.

I know that the major (in some colleges) for pre-med isn’t limited to bio or bio, math, physics, psych, etc, and I’m looking to major in computer science, but there comes some doubts with it. For example, I don’t know how the course work will be on my mental health (actually I don’t know what ANY course work will affect my mental health) and my mother is calling me indecisive about what I want to do in life. To be fully honestly with everyone, the thought of majoring in biology is very unappealing to me. (Though I understand sometimes I have to go through very unappealing parts to get to the nice part) I’ve had my entire high school career focused on science and medicine, and I have had some not so good experiences with my science classes (also again I understand my experiences in high school don’t reflect what happens in college) so frankly I’m tired of the curriculum that has been repeated to me at least 5 times in my entire school career.

Any computer science major going into med school have any advice or experiences? Anyone really have any advice because I’m really tired of the stress

Some extra points: I’m also going to take an intro to CS / just CS course in the summer and AP bio next year. I think I’ll be deciding my major for sure after the CS course at least
