First, if you decide to read and talk with me, thank you very much for your time.
I've been a pharmacy technician for 12 years, I'm a senior tech for my company and I make 20.78 an hour, which is more than most techs make. I'm starting to feel the burn out from retail more than I care to admit from being yelled at by entitled people who think retail pharmacy is like fast food. I've tried hospital tech work but I find it boring. I enjoy the challenge of solving people's problems and find working with people who need my help to be very rewarding. There's not a pharmacy problem I can't solve for my patients. I'm good at my job and I take a lot of pride in it.
Here's what I want, but I don't know if it's possible. I want to go back to school, and finish my bachelor's degree and then work in medical social work. I want to teach people, especially disadvantaged communities like the homeless or disabled, how to advocate for themselves. I want to teach them how to navigate our healthcare system, and I've got 12 years experience doing just that.
The problem is I dropped out in the last semester of my senior year getting a degree in health science, with four classes to finish. I was suffering from depression for the first time in my life, and I didn't withdraw from my classes. I just took a bunch of incompletes. I ruined my outstanding GPA, and I owe my school money, just over 2k.
I also defaulted on my student loans so I can't get loans to go back to school.
Any ideas guys? I've maxed out how far you can go on this path. Thank you for reading.
