There is no "right path"
Post Body

Myself and countless on this sub really struggle with feeling like there's not really a clear path in life. I see a ton of comments and posts of folks desperate for ideas or motivations to get from A to B, and rightfully so, as there are more options for work now than there ever has been before. Factor in the internet to make all of these niche and broad careers known, and it's so easy to get overwhelmed and suffocated with choice paralysis.

Something I've come to the conclusion to is there just isn't a set path. At least, not for 90% of us. I think one of the best things you can do is write out 5-10 careers right off the top of your head without much though and that are obtainable, and in a sense, close your eyes and throw a dart at the list to see what sticks. Confidence is a VAST majority of people's career satisfaction. A "the grass would be greener if I" situation. You see countless comments of people making 70-100k a year that want to do something more active and simpler for less pay, and the opposite trademen saying they should've stayed in school and became office admins.

As once said in my favorite video game, "hesitation means defeat". The more you hesitate to shoot for a better job or career for yourself the less time you have. Do what you need to to get there, get comfy for a few years, and start all over. Nobody was ever meant to do the same thing their entire life and if they think so, they are cutting themselves extremely short.

Be well my friends
