Any Tips and missables?

I'm starting this game tomorrow and I'm wondering if there are any things I could miss that I shouldn't. Things like Albed Primeres, special shops, bribing the omega runes boss, etc.
Also, how different is the expert spear grid from the normal one? I'm planning on trying to use it, and is it better?
From what I heard I can still max my stats on both of them (255 luck I'm aiming for), but is 9999 hp or 99999 hp better?
Could you please tell me more?
